Integrating SalesForce and Google Maps with Drupal for East Sussex Highways; allowing the public to report and track issues in their area.

East Sussex Highways wanted a new website that was dynamic, fresh and responsive which did not look like a ‘traditional local authority highways’ site.

Extensive Knowledge Base design

The purpose of the site

Visitors to the website are able to report highways related issues, such as potholes, street lights that are out, flooding issues, gritting routes, and much more, directly on the website. Users can view the status of other enquiries that have already been logged, or report new enquiries / problems, and then receive email updates on these.

Upbeat worked in partnership with CH2M Hill and Costain Ltd in the design and development of the website and integrations, and continues to help support and host the website going forward. The direct integration with SalesForce allows users to report issues that can be pushed to repair crews out on the road.

A core component of the website was an interactive mapping facility, enabling East Sussex to display highways information to users in a highly intuitive interface, compared to traditional lists.
